This Privacy Policy explains what information SingingRangeTest.com processes when you use the website and its browser-based singing tools, and who else is involved. It describes what the site does today; where we could not confirm something, we say so.

In Short
- The singing tools analyse your microphone in your browser. Their code does not send your audio, notes or results to us (details below).
- The website loads a Google tag through the Google Site Kit plugin to measure visits, so Google receives technical information about your visit and may set cookies.
- One tool, Note Finder, saves its settings in your browser. No other tool saves anything.
- The website is hosted by Hostinger and loads fonts from Google Fonts.
- We do not use advertising or affiliate tracking at the time of this update.
Information We May Process
Information You Provide
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach or include, such as a page address or a screenshot. If a contact form is offered on the website, the details you enter into it are received by the website and passed to us in the same way.
Please do not send medical records, identity documents, financial information or other highly sensitive personal information by email or through a form.
Technical and Usage Information
When you visit the website, technical information is processed automatically by the website, our hosting provider and Google’s measurement tag. This may include:
- IP address or network information;
- browser type, device type and operating system;
- pages visited, referral source and the dates and times of visits;
- approximate location derived from technical information;
- interactions with pages;
- cookies or similar identifiers.
The exact information available to us depends on the service and how it is configured.
Microphone Access and Voice Tools
Each tool that uses the microphone asks your browser for permission. A tool cannot hear anything until you allow it, and you can withdraw permission at any time in your browser or device settings.
Ten tools are covered by this section: Pitch Accuracy Test, Singing Grader, High Note Test, Voice Frequency Test, Singing Note Detector, Voice Type Test, Note Finder, Voice Quality Test, Vocal Scale Finder and Vocal Pitch Changer. See the tools page for the full list.
- The microphone signal is analysed inside your browser on your own device.
- When the code of these tools was reviewed, it contained no instruction that sends microphone audio, detected notes, results or scores to our servers or to any third party, and none that records or stores audio (the one exception, in the Vocal Pitch Changer, is described below).
- The review was a reading of the tool code and automated tests with synthetic signals and a simulated microphone. It was not a network capture on real phones, real microphones or every browser, so behaviour on your own device could in principle differ if your browser, an extension or your network adds something of its own.
What we mean by “not recorded”
A tool that analyses your voice must read the microphone signal while you sing or speak. That signal is used as it arrives to work out pitch, notes or similar measurements and is then discarded. The tools show their results on your screen. We do not receive them.
Vocal Pitch Changer: recording and files
The Vocal Pitch Changer lets you record yourself in the page or open an audio file from your device. Recording uses the browser’s own recorder. The recording or file is held in the page’s memory on your device and is processed there. In the code and in a test browser, the tool made only requests to this website’s own address, and nothing was uploaded. Nothing is written to your browser’s storage by this tool. If you save the result, the file goes to your own device. Closing or reloading the page discards what is in memory.
Settings saved in your browser
The Note Finder stores your chosen settings (instrument, note-name style, reference pitch and sensitivity) in your browser’s local storage under the name nfr-settings, so they are still there next time. This stays on your device, is not sent to us, and contains no recordings. You can remove it by clearing this site’s data in your browser. The other nine tools listed above do not save anything in your browser.
We do not intentionally collect voice recordings for the purpose of creating biometric voice profiles or identifying people by their voice.
This section describes the tools listed above. If a tool or feature on this website handles audio or results differently, the tool page says so and this policy will be updated.

Why We Process Information

Google Site Kit, Google Tag and Analytics
The website uses the Google Site Kit plugin for WordPress, which loads a Google tag on the pages. The tag is used to measure how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed, device and browser information, approximate location and where visitors came from. Google processes this information under its own terms and privacy policy, and the tag may set or read cookies such as the _ga family of analytics cookies. See our Cookies Policy for details.
The code of the ten tools contains no analytics calls, so the tools do not deliberately send your audio, detected notes or results to Google. Google’s tag can still record ordinary page-level activity, such as the page you opened. Analytics data is not completely anonymous, because it can involve technical identifiers.
Cookie and Consent Choices
At the time of this update the website does not include its own cookie-consent tool, and the Google tag loads when you visit the site. You can prevent it by blocking cookies or scripts in your browser, by using a content blocker, or by using Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. Blocking optional cookies does not stop the tools or articles from working. If a consent tool is added, this section and the Cookies Policy will be updated.
Website Hosting, CDN and Server Logs
SingingRangeTest.com is hosted by Hostinger, and pages are delivered through Hostinger’s content delivery network. Hostinger may process technical information needed to provide hosting, security and troubleshooting, for example IP addresses, request times, requested addresses, browser and device information, errors and security events, in server and infrastructure logs.
Fonts
The website loads its text font (Inter) from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore sends a request, including your IP address, to Google’s font servers when a page is displayed.
Contact Messages
Messages you send us by email are received in our email account and may be kept in it or in backups. If a form is used, the information may also be stored by WordPress and included in website backups. We use contact information to answer questions, investigate tool problems, review corrections, respond to accessibility reports, handle privacy requests and keep relevant correspondence.
Data Retention
We do not use one fixed retention period for every category of information. Information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary, including to provide and maintain the website, respond to correspondence, investigate technical problems, keep correction records, protect the site against abuse, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. Google, Hostinger and other providers apply their own retention periods. When information is no longer needed, it may be deleted, anonymised or allowed to expire.
Data Sharing and Service Providers
We do not disclose personal information simply because someone asks for it. Information is processed by service providers where needed to run the website. The providers we can confirm are:
- Google (Site Kit and analytics tag; Google Fonts);
- Hostinger (hosting, content delivery and related technical services);
- WordPress, the software the site runs on, and its plugins;
- our email service, used to receive your messages.
We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with the law, respond to valid legal process, protect our rights or users, or investigate fraud, security issues or abuse.
Advertising and Affiliate Tracking
At the time of this update, SingingRangeTest.com does not use Google AdSense or other advertising, and does not use affiliate-tracking technologies. If we introduce advertising, affiliate tracking or sponsorship technology, we will update this Privacy Policy and our cookie practices.
International Processing
The website can be accessed from anywhere. Service providers such as Google and Hostinger may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, providers may use contractual, organisational or legal safeguards for international transfers.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a small website. No website, server, browser, email system or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information by email or form.
Children’s Privacy
SingingRangeTest.com is a general-audience educational website and is not designed to create personal profiles of children. We do not knowingly operate user accounts intended to collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us personal information, they can contact us at support@singingrangetest.com and we will review the request and act where required.
Your Privacy Rights
Privacy rights depend on where you live and on whether a particular privacy law applies to our processing.
EEA and Other GDPR-Protected Users
Where the GDPR applies, eligible individuals may have the right to:
- access personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete data in certain circumstances;
- restrict processing;
- data portability where applicable;
- object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
- complain to a supervisory authority.
Not every right applies in every situation. Requests are handled within the timeframes required by applicable law.
California and Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Where U.S. state privacy laws apply to SingingRangeTest.com, eligible residents may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, information about certain disclosures, and opt-outs from certain kinds of sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Whether a specific law applies depends on its requirements and on our processing. At the time of this update the site does not use advertising or affiliate tracking.
How to Make a Privacy Request
Email support@singingrangetest.com, for example with the subject “Privacy Request”. Explain what you are asking for and give enough information for us to identify the relevant records. You do not need to use legal wording. We may ask for reasonable verification before disclosing, deleting or changing personal information. Please do not send passports or national identity documents unless they are specifically requested and reasonably necessary.

The website links to other websites for sources, references, products, social pages and additional resources. We do not control their privacy practices. If you leave SingingRangeTest.com, the privacy policy of the destination website applies.
Our Facebook Page
SingingRangeTest.com maintains a Facebook page at facebook.com/singingrangetest. Visiting or interacting with Facebook is subject to Meta’s own privacy practices. The website only links to the page; we found no Facebook or Meta tracking code on the home page.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when website functionality, tools, service providers, analytics or advertising practices or legal requirements change, or when something needs to be clarified. When it is materially updated, the Last updated date at the top will change.
